In the past STEP has worked with several other international and national organizations in order to improve the health standards of the underserved communities of Punjab Pakistan.
Many informative seminars have taken place in different areas where hired professionals were able to guide the population on the dos and don’ts in order for their families to maintain good health. STEP’s main focus had also been health of the women and children. Women and their children are the most vulnerable to health issues because of unhealthy and unhygienic practices due to traditional and cultural society norms in Pakistan. STEP focused on providing such women awareness on how they can maintain good health while upholding their traditional values. Women especially young women were guided on the hygienic practices during their menstrual cycles. In Pakistan a major issue that makes women susceptible to major infections and diseases are the unhygienic ways during their cycles.
Small awareness camps as these were greatly helpful and proved out to be a small step towards a major goal of a society where good health was not just confined to educated and high earning class of people.
STEP conducted many seminars but the most major one was in collaboration with the VGIF Organization (Now ‘WomenFirstFund’).
